What are the differences between the various EyeSDN USB device types?

EyeSDN USB-S0

This device records the data of an ISDN basic rate interface (S0). Both channels of the basic rate interface are recorded.

EyeSDN USB-E1

The EyeSDN USB-E1 is used for ISDN primary rate interfaces (S2M or E1 interface). The S2M interface offers up to 30 channels, all of whose data is recorded by the EyeSDN USB-E1.

EyeSDN USB-A2

The EyeSDN USB-A2 is adapted for analog telephone connections and can record up to two analog connections.

EyeSDN USB-A8

The EyeSDN USB-A8 device is a PC-internal card, which can be connected to up to 8 analog telefon connections.

EyeSDN USB-A8Bx

The EyeSDN USB-A8Bx box can record up to 8  analog connections. It is an external device connected to the PC.

EyeSDN USB-4S

The EyeSDN USB-4S device is a PC-internal card, which can be connected to up to 4 ISDN basic rate interfaces. It can record up to 8  B-channels.

EyeSDN USB-4SBx

The EyeSDN USB-4SBx device is an external box, which can be connected to up to 4 ISDN basic rate interfaces. It can record up to 8  B-channels.

What happens to the calls if my computer crashes?

The EyeSDN USB device will stop recording calls if your computer crashes, although you can continue to make and receive them. The EyeSDN USB device is supplied with power by the computer, and if this crashes or is turned off then the recording device is offline. The EyeSDN USB device will automatically resume call recording once the computer is running again.

Which telephone systems are suitable for the EyeSDN Devices?

All telephone systems, which support the Q.931 or DSS1 (Euro ISDN) protocols. Different variants are supported for caller-recognition in analog systems (DTMF before the first dial tone and V.23 between dial tones).

Can I connect the EyeSDN USB devices to hand-held computers, such as the Microsoft CE?

No. The EyeSDN USB devices are intended for use with PCs or laptops. These computers then require either the Windows® 2000, Windows® XP or Windows Vista™ operating systems and a processor with a clock frequency of at least 500 MHz for the S0 and analog devices and 2 GHz for the E1 device.
